I was very impressed with the aides while I was receiving rehab therapy. I am a diabetic, and was having some low episodes in the early mornings. The aides were very kind, caring, and attentive to me, asking what more I need to feel comfortable. I was pleasantly surprised when the aides continued to come back each day, sometimes right as their shift is beginning or ending, to make sure I was feeling better and if there was anything else they could do. I was truly blown away by the dedication of the staff and the care I received.

I am very happy and comfortable here. The staff does a terrific job, the move-in process was very easy, and I love the camaraderie with the other residents!

The staff and services at Shepherd of the Valley Howland rehab are excellent! Our family received overwhelming support while our mom went through weeks of recovery. The social worker provided a plethora of information to guide us along through the rehab and discharge process. What a blessing to have such kind and generous nurses, therapists, and support staff during a lengthy rehab!

I had two stays at Shepherd of the Valley Boardman, in skilled nursing and in the Dialysis Den. The Dialysis Den was comfortable and convenient. I went five days per week. If I ever need skilled nursing again, I’d want to come back to Shepherd of the Valley Boardman. The staff is kind, challenged me to push myself in therapy, and lifted my spirit while I was here.

Although my stay here was longer than anticipated, I am very grateful to the staff for helping me regain the strength to go home. When I was admitted, I was on a ventilator, feeding tube, and unable to speak. The respiratory therapists, floor nurses, and occupational therapists all showed so much compassion and teamwork throughout this process. The facility is outstanding and makes you feel comfortable, and I made many friends during my stay. While I’m sad to leave my new connections, I’m excited that I was able to reach my goal and discharge home!
